Over 200 community-minded volunteers assisted the Rodeo Committee with more than 200 local businesses, service clubs and organizations donating time, labor, or other resources.

Karen Graham Wade is the 2009 winner of the prestigious John Justin Standard of the West Award. Karen, an active member of our Rodeo Committee for ten years, is the Director of the local Workman and Temple Family Homestead Museum which has been involved with our Charity Pro Rodeo since its inception twenty-four years ago.

In addition to her involvement with Community Kids Day, Karen works with other members of the Museum staff as well as representatives of the La Puente Valley Historical Society to offer exhibits and free activities at the Ride into Rodeo History booth for those attending the weekend Rodeo.

Karen’s many interests and talents have been a tremendous help to our Committee, and we are happy to nominate her as this year’s volunteer of the year.
